Well, the laughs part is debatable.

Weekend box office preview: Scares, laughs and fast cars prevail.

If anyone has plans to hit the theater this weekend, you've got some new movie options. I have to be honest, though, I call this weekend the "Waiting for Man of Steel " time, because I suspect I'm not alone in saving my cash for the biggest summer blockbuster of the year, which opens on June 14.

Again though, if you've just got to put your posterior in a theater seat in the next few days, the new films debuting this weekend include the new comedy The Internship, which reunites Wedding Crashers buddies Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson again, and the home invasion horror flick The Purge, starring Ethan Hawke.

I have to be honest: While horror is definitely not my favorite movie genre, I appreciate a good scare every now and then. And the premise for The Purge is kind of awesomely creepy: On one night each year, all crime in the country is legal. The whole thing is actually sanctioned by the government. Intrigued? I was, but I'm not exactly thrilled with the pretty dismal reviews The Purge is getting from critics. Horror tends to score low on Rotten Tomatoes overall, but anything in the 40th percent range and I'm waiting for the DVD. Still, I have to admit that photo I posted of the would-be home invaders gave me a bit of a scare.

If any of you do go see The Purge, please let me know if it's good. If I'm missing out, I do want to know about it.

Okay, then we have the buddy comedy The Internship, which looks pretty lame to me. I have now officially lost all faith in Vince Vaughn as a comedic actor after suffering through The Watch - easily one of the worst movies I had the displeasure of viewing last year. I actually loved Wedding Crashers, and I think it's easily my favorite Vaughn movie, but I'm not sure if re-teaming him with Wilson here, as two interns at Google, will work. Will lightning strike twice? Doubtful. I'm also waiting for the DVD on this one, I think. Unless I get super bored this weekend, then we'll see...

And, last but certainly not least, we still have a number of huge summer blockbusters going strong in theaters from weeks past: Fast & Furious 6 is making crazy cash at the box office. This week, it hit the $500 million mark worldwide. I still don't get it, but I've got to respect it.

If you are hitting the theater in the next few days, what are you going to see?
