Three great Netflix streaming movies
Are you guys all as hooked on Netflix instant as I am? Forget waiting for the mailed DVDs, I'm over it. I want a movie, I want it now - not tomorrow. With that in mind, I am continuing my quest to try and point out some new and notable movies streaming on Netflix Instant. And October 2013's streaming options look quite promising.
I can't possibly write about every single new Netflix streaming movie release, or we'd be here all day. I decided to limit myself (this time) to just three options: all movies I've seen and loved, including one that still makes me angry, furious even.
Let's start with the fun one: Ghostbusters is a classic supernatural comedy movie. This Ivan Reitman-directed 1984 movie remains one of my favorites ever. Given that Halloween is coming, it seems perfectly appropriate to offer this one up to the masses once again via streaming. Good call, Netflix. If you haven't seen Ghostbusters in a while, it's high time to revisit it (or introduce it to your kids, as long as they are a bit older of course).
Now for something a bit more serious: 2002's Confessions of a Dangerous Mind is streaming on Netflix this month. George Clooney directs this movie about game show host Chuck Barris, and it's a fantastic film. If you haven't seen, you really should: It's gorgeous, and Sam Rockwell does a great job playing Barris.
And last but certainly not least, let's throw in a documentary option (I've made it clear over the years that I'm a huge doc fan): The Central Park Five is finally available on Netflix Instant streaming. I wrote about this one a while back, explaining that yes, this movie is incredibly important and one we should all watch. It made me so angry that I'm still thinking about it now.
