New trailer alert: 'American Hustle'
So many great films are coming out between now and December, I am starting to worry I'll miss some along the way. I always wind up scrambling last-minute to see the Best Picture Oscar nominees, sometimes because they haven't played in my area and sometimes because...well...I love football. That takes up a pretty huge chunk of my weekend: We attend home games on Saturday and watch pro games faithfully on Sunday. Still, there are some films that are coming out soon that will make me break my NFL habit, including American Hustle, the new drama from director David O. Russell.
To say that American Hustle has a dream cast is an understatement. Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Jeremy Renner and Robert De Niro - those are just some of the fine actors involved in this movie. And now, at long last, we've got a great new trailer that gives us another look at what I'm almost positive will be a Best Picture nominee.
No more suspense. Here's the hot new trailer for American Hustle:
American Hustle - Official Trailer - In Theaters this December
Am I right or am I right? And yeah, that is Louis C.K. in the trailer as well. And yes, it's the cast of Silver Linings Playbook meets The Fighter, two other outstanding David O. Russell films. I do wish I could unsee Bradley Cooper getting a perm, though.
American Hustle is based on the FBI's Abscam sting operation of the late 70s and early 80s. Christian Bale and Amy Adams are con artists who are forced to work for an FBI agent (Bradley Cooper) to catch political figures taking bribes. To my knowledge, a movie about the Abscam scandal has never hit the big screen before. I'm intrigued.
Between the subject matter for the film and the cast (you guys already know I'm obsessed with Jennifer Lawrence), I can hardly wait for American Hustle to hit theaters. A limited release will happen in mid-December, with a wide release in U.S. theaters on December 25. Get ready, because I know this movie is going to be one of the best of the year.
