It's really happening: 'Dumb and Dumber' sequel filming underway

Let's face it: Dumb and Dumber wasn't exactly Oscar material. But whatever this 1994 buddy comedy lacked in highbrow entertainment, it more than made up for in chuckles. I normally don't go for straight-up silly comedy movies, but I fell pretty hard for Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in the original movie. Nearly 20 years later, I'm preparing myself for the sequel, and I suggest you do the same. It's happening, like it or not.

How do I know this? I first found out from Jeff Daniels, actually. And no, he's not a close personal friend (I wish), I just follow the guy on Twitter. Daniels is exceptionally witty most of the time, and his Twitter account is always worth a follow. So this morning, imagine my shock when Daniels tweeted out this wonderful photo, saying simply, "We're back!!!"

Not surprisingly, Twitter went berserk. I mean we all knew this was probably happening, but to see the evidence, in the form of a hilarious photo of Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne (Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels), well, it's just all so exciting! I've camped out on the Dumb and Dumber To IMDb page for a while now, hoping for clues about a plot, the cast, all of it. The only thing I know is that in Dumb and Dumber To, Harry and Lloyd take some sort of road trip to track down "long lost children" because one of them needs a kidney transplant. Oh, and Jeff Daniels says, "There are some things we're going to do in Dumb & Dumber 2 that are going to make the toilet scene look lame." *Snort*

To think, I figured Jeff Daniels was just tweeting out more photos from his big (and somewhat shocking) Emmy win on Sunday night. Nooooo, this is so much better! The only thing that would be even better? A new trailer, of course, but I don't expect that to drop for a while. At this point, we don't even have an official release date for Dumb and Dumber To. At least, thanks to Jeff Daniels, we have proof that all of this is real.
