First four minutes of 'Now You See Me'

As we head into summer blockbuster movie season, I fear that some fun-looking films might slip through the cracks. One of them is the suspense thriller Now You See Me. The movie, directed by Louis Leterrier, boasts an impressive cast, including Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Mark Ruffalo, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine.

Do I have your full attention now? Because really, I just saw the trailer for Now You See Me this past weekend, and it looks interesting. More than anything, this movie looks like fun. And I'm all about the fun when it comes to films. I've seen some real buzz kill movies lately. Balance is key.

Now You See Me looks like a classic cat-and-mouse caper film, with a few modern twists: The FBI and Interpol are tracking a group of former street magicians who pull off massive heists and then give away the cash they steal. The trailer certainly got my attention, and at the very least, I felt it was worth further investigation. That's when I found the coolest movie-related clip I've seen in a while: The first four minutes of the movie. Here it is:

Now how the heck did Jesse Eisenberg know I picked the seven of diamonds? Did you guys pick the same card, or what? I assume this is extremely clever editing, because I just dragged my spouse in here to watch and he also picked the seven of diamonds. Is this some magician's sleight of hand trick I didn't know about?

And wait, Isla Fisher can't die in the beginning of the movie, being horrifyingly eaten alive by piranhas. That would really tick me off.

For what it's worth, Now You See Me looks like a cross between Oceans 11 and The Prestige. I think it's probably the Michael Caine factor that's making me think the latter. I don't think this film will even come close to the deepness of The Prestige. The movie opens on May 31, 2013, and at the moment, no major reviews are in yet. I say keep Now You See Me on your radar.

Does Now You See Me intrigue you enough to check it out in theaters?
