A platform for authors who want process control.

Kbuuk creates intuitive eBook software

Every new eBook company has a different focus that they pitch to authors as a reason to use it. Depending on what is most important to you as an author, different eBook services will be more attractive.

If you're the kind of author who likes to be able to do everything yourself, from the uploading to the formatting to the publishing, it can be hard to find an easy-to-use solution. There are plenty of tools out there, but they often do just one part of the process, or they are difficult to work with unless you are familiar with them.

I'd like to introduce Kbuuk, an eBook tool that is specifically focused on making eBook creation software that is easy for authors to use. Here's a bit from their About page that stands out to me:

"We make intuitive software. We don’t sell training because you don’t need it. Your job is to write; therefore, we don’t complicate matters with complicated processes."

Now that is an incredibly confident and bold claim. I haven't used their software yet, but I do like the way that they are focused on creating an easy-to-use software experience for authors.

They have an entire section called "What's Our Secret" that expands:

  • We make powerful software.
  • We treat authors as entrepreneurs.
  • We don’t hide fees or plot “gotcha” pricing.

"The team behind Kbuuk employs agile software techniques to build a suite of tools to empower authors to seize their own destinies. We’d like to believe that we've created the author’s ultimate service… everything an author wants, and nothing he or she doesn’t."

Again, it sounds like a powerful approach. Empowering and treating authors as entrepreneurs is extremely compelling to someone who wants to be in complete control of the whole process. At the same time, this is putting the responsibility squarely on the shoulders of authors.

What do you think about the Kbuuk approach?
