Video: How attached are cats to their owners?

We are quite attached to our cats, but how attached are they to us? This study used a classic test of child attachment to analyze whether or not cats were attached to their owners.

Frankly I have some issues with their results. I think it’s a mistake to equate “needs for emotional support in a new environment” with “is attached to.” After all, cats are curious – that’s one of their main qualities. Just because a cat feels free to explore an environment without constantly checking in with its owner, that doesn’t necessarily mean the cat isn’t attached to its owner.
