Squirrel thieves stealing soap and body wash

Residents of a particular suburban English street had been noticing a rash of strange thefts: soap, shampoo, and body wash was going missing from their bathrooms. The thefts were particularly puzzling because many of the bathrooms were on the second floor, only accessible to the outside from a small bathroom window.

Eventually the thieves were unmasked: a troop of lightfingered squirrels has been leaping in through open windows from the trees that the town council had thoughtfully planted on the sidewalks. Why the squirrels are stealing soap remains unknown, but residents are angry that the town council refuses to cut back the trees.
