Save the Cat: Why every blockbuster feels the same

is every hit blockbuster movie starting to feel the same? That's because they literally are. Blake Snyder's screenwriting book Save the Cat has become unbelievably popular in Hollywood, and it's minute-by-minute breakdown of "beats" can be found in just about every popular movie of the last few years. Slavishly following the Save the Cat formula may be good for sales in the short term, but it's killing us in the long term. Let's hope this trend runs its course soon.
