Muscle damage that leads to kidney damage

Rhabdo: Crossfit's ugly secret

Crossfit is the challenging fitness craze that's sweeping the nation. But be warned: the trainers can push you too far, and if that happens, you can fall into a dangerous medical condition called rhabdomyolysis (commonly called "rhabdo"). This condition happens when your muscle cells rupture and leak toxins into your blood. Your kidneys try to mop up the toxins and become damaged, and it can be fatal if it's not caught quickly enough and treated at a hospital.

Scary stuff, and Crossfit needs to address this problem!
