Spoiler alert: It's not really the tears of God

Parishioners worship "weeping tree"

A group of Catholic parishioners in Fresno, CA have congregated to worship at a "weeping tree," an Island Cape Myrtle which drips a clear fluid on hot days. Scientists called in to investigate quickly discovered that the substance is actually honeydew, a clear sticky fluid which is excreted by aphids. The scientific explanation has not deterred true believers, who have begun to gather at the tree and claim it can heal the sick.
