Oscar Wilde and Walt Whitman probably hooked up

Here's something you may not have known: in 1882, Oscar Wilde and Walt Whitman "almost certainly did it." Wilde was on a speaking tour of America when he had an opportunity to meet one of his personal heroes, Walt Whitman.

This is titillating news and I'm glad for them both, since each poet went on to brag about the encounter in glowing terms. But I have to think Wilde could have done better. I mean, have you seen Oscar Wilde? Dude was hot! And have you seen Walt Whitman? I mean come on.
