New York's "Stop and Frisk" ruled unconstitutional

Probable cause? Pfft, New York was having none of that nonsense. Mayor Bloomberg defended the city's "stop and frisk" policy, which allowed police officers to stop anyone at any time for any reason and give them a pat-down. And to no one's surprise, a lot more non-white people ended up at the wrong end of a stop-and-frisk than white folks did.

According to Bloomberg, this was a cornerstone of the NYPD's success in recent years. But according to the Supreme Court, it's unconstitutional. At least that's something to be grateful for this week!
