Overturning the theory that only humans practiced organization
New evidence that Neanderthals organized their space
Evidence from a new Neanderthal excavation strongly suggests that the Neanderthals practiced a very deliberate form of organization in their living spaces. Tool making (a practice which results in lots of sharp bits lying around) was kept separate from living areas, a separate area was set aside for butchering game, and more. This recent excavation overturns the previous belief, which was that only Homo sapiens had the mental capacity for this kind of planning and forethought.
