Until I read this New York Times article, I had no idea that Faber-Castell was the name of a family: a Bavarian count, to be exact, who presides over the Faber-Castell dynasty, holding their pencils to the strictest standards and the highest quality German manufacturing.
For those of us with a fetish for art supplies, this is kind of a revelation. I think I love him!
