It's a key component to the show's success

"Hannibal" fascinating soundtrack reviewed

The A. V. Club  recently reviewed the soundtrack to NBC's hit "Hannibal" and examines why the score is so crucial to the show's success. The soundtrack was one of the first things that impressed me about the show; it's bizarre drones and clatters is profoundly upsetting in a way that truly enhances the episodes themselves. At times, it almost overwhelms the dialogue. And as the A. V. Club review points out, it's so much better than what most shows would have chosen - the "stinger" violin, standard screeching clash of the horns section, etc.
