A silly-sounding trick that works

Feeling stressed? Tell yourself you're excited

Feeling stressed? Tell yourself you’re excited instead. A group of researchers found that if they had one group of participants tell themselves “I’m excited” before giving a presentation, that group performed better than the control group, which just felt stressed out about it. Apparently your brain is easily fooled into mistaking stress for excitement, and excitement doesn’t carry the same cognitive penalties as stress does.

Weird, but maybe worth a shot?
