FDA considering ban on menthol cigarettes

Although they are just as toxic as regular cigarettes, the FDA is considering a ban on menthols because they make smoking easier for new smokers, and thus make it more difficult to quit smoking. Because the menthol in the cigarettes help to numb the lungs, menthols make it easier to overcome your body's natural defense against inhaling smoke. Which is one reason why they are the favorite choice of teenage smokers.
