Over the weekend, Comedy Central prankster Nathan Fielder opened up a Starbucks lookalike café in Los Angeles, complete with the store’s logo and color scheme. Fielder called his store “Dumb Starbucks,” and contends that his use of the Starbucks logo is thus covered by the fair use rules of American copyright law.
Funny if true, but Starbucks’ real lawyers are poring over the legal documents as we speak. Hope it works out for him!
