Chicago mayor promises stunt if kids read enough books

If Chicago kids read 2 million books this summer, mayor Rahm Emmanuel has promised that he will jump into the frigid Lake Michigan this winter. The challenge was issued as part of Emmanuel’s “Rahm’s Readers” program, which last summer got Chicago kids to read 1.5 million books. This year Emmanuel is upping the ante.

Come on, kids! Get that mayor wet! And let’s see some other mayors stepping up to the bat – what a fun way to encourage kids to read!
