10 annoying sounds you need to stop making

Top notch linguist James Harbeck is back, this time with a list of 10 (vocal) sounds that are annoying. This is a great list, and it's always fun to watch a technical name get put to the strange sounds we all make without thinking. But I have to confess, before I clicked through, I was pretty sure it would be a list with items like "trimming your nails in public" or "jingling the change in your pockets." (A guy in line ahead of me at Starbucks was jingling his pocket change the other day. It took everything I had not to stab him in the ear with a coffee stir stick.)
