Harvest Time Near NYC

New York's apple-picking season is drawing to a close, but harvest lovers need not despair. With dozens of family farms and orchards just a car ride away from the city, you could have a belly full of delicious cider and a bag stuffed with take-home fruits and veggies by nightfall. Better still, if you'd like to experience Fall fun with a minimal amount of driving, you're in luck – two of New York's finest farms are conveniently located directly across from one another in North Salem, about an hour from Midtown Manhattan.

So bundle up, grab your friends, and don't forget to bring your appetite!

Outhouse Orchards
“Home of the Happy Apple,” this one-of-a-kind family farm offers fresh cider, pumpkin cheesecakes, locally made maple syrup and so much more. They're no longer offering apples for picking directly from the trees, but they are selling them – along with pre-picked bins – at their store.

Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard
Located directly across the road from Outhouse Orchards, Harvest Moon provides private hayride tours of their farm and 15 minutes visits with the animals. You'll find fresh eggs and grass fed beef in their store, as well as amazing apple cider donuts.
