Ganxy launches eBook giveaway toolkit
One of the biggest challenges for any author is to get readers for their book. I talk a lot about the Amazon Kindle Lending Library and the benefits of giving away copies of your book to Kindle owners. But Amazon isn't the only service that allows authors to give away copies of books.
Ganxy is a startup that launched in April that enables authors to give away digital content, and offers a slew of services and extras that you don't get when you use Amazon. They offer:
- Promotions: With their tool, authors can offer their full or sample sections from their ebook(s) for free on any website. Authors can also run giveaways and gather customer analytics.
- Sales options: Ganxy is non-exclusive, meaning authors can sell books on any other platform in addition to Ganxy. Because the sales are more direct, authors are able to retain 90 percent of the list price.
- Showcase for presentation: This is the big one, I think. Ganxy provides a "showcase" tool so authors can display their book in a professional way on any website. Essentially it's an embeddable tool with a lot of great features.
- The showcase gets its own URL you can link to if you would prefer it have its own page. Here's an example of an author using Ganxy to give away his book: Travel Hacking by Dave Brett.
- It can be embedded on any website as well as many social media networks. This is a nice touch that lets authors create a consistent branding experience across platforms.
- It keeps analytics that tell you where and how customers discovered you. This is a great feature that allows authors to keep in touch with people who have downloaded a free ebook (or any other digital materials).
- Giveaway options include access codes to put in materials you give away and a tool for asking promotional customers to provide contact info in return for downloading the content. This is one great feature that I don't see many tools offering that can help authors with audience building.
Overall, what Ganxy is offering is a step forward for author giveaways and audience platform buildling.
Have any of you heard of, used, or known someone who used Ganxy? What did you think?
