French architects design a SimCity-style arcology

Fans of the SimCity series often find themselves disappointed that arcologies don't exist in the real world. They make so much sense, especially in a harsh environment, like the Saharan Desert, which is where this particular arcology was designed to inhabit.

Arcologies let you share resources like water and air conditioning without having to traverse long distances. And what a great way to have a presto, instant, self-contained city!

Alas, these particular plans are indeed only plans. The problem is that no one wants to foot the bill for building an entire city from scratch. Pity, that. Some big corporation should dream big and build one of these, if only because it would be so neat!
