Bioware's Star Wars games ruled officially not canon
Ever since Disney took over the Star Wars franchise, they have become the ultimate authority as to what is and isn't canon. Although Disney has been flexible as to the canonical nature of Star Wars properties outside the core movies, the Extended Universe has been ruled "Legacy," which means that it's all on iffy terrain.
And now it seems that the BioWare games, particularly the extremely popular MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic, are officially considered not canon. On the up side, a Disney representative says they have no plans to interfere with the SWTOR universe, which I'm sure will come as a relief to SWTOR players. On the down side, it sounds like BioWare's Star Wars universe is unlikely to get any attention or expansion in the future.
