Fans eagerly await any and all news.

Are the Rolling Stones touring soon?

Is it just me, or does it seem like forever since the Rolling Stones' big 50th anniversary shows late last year? Ever since, I've been impatiently waiting for some sort of announcement about a full tour in the U.S. What have I heard? Crickets. I've heard nothing but crickets. Even still, I've socked away some extra cash in the hope that the Stones would tour near me. Now, I'm thinking that was an excellent plan.

The latest news is that the Rolling Stones might, in fact, launch a small(ish) tour as early as May. Rolling Stone magazine cites a "concert business source" as saying that yes, in fact, a tour is coming. It will likely include "18 concerts" throughout North America in 2013. Notice, this says "concerts" and not "cities," so it's possible that some cities might get multiple shows. That would make sense, because if there is one band on the planet that can sell out huge venues over and over, it's Mick Jagger and the boys.

Supposedly the tour will start on or around May 2, 2013. As for specific cities...we don't know yet. My guess is large markets only. That's excellent news for people in Los Angeles, New York City, and (hopefully) Atlanta. Rolling Stone also quotes a source as saying that even Seattle might get at least one show.

I hope this happens, but until I see something posted on the Rolling Stones' official website and/or a press conference featuring Jagger and Keith Richards making the announcement, I'll try to keep my excitement in check.

There are very few bands on this planet that I'll pay top dollar for - the Rolling Stones are one of them. I do hope, however, that the ticket prices aren't as high as the ones for those "50 and Counting" shows. I said months ago that there was absolutely no way I'd pay more than $800 for a ticket for any concert, and I meant it.

Any fellow Stones fans as excited as I am right now? Oh, wait, I'm supposed to be reeling in my crazy until we know something for sure. Stay tuned.
