The Beer Fridge has lofty goals for its inception.

A social network strictly for beer snobs

Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed when trying to delve into the world of craft beers? Sure, you have friends who are totally knowledgeable, and even though you don’t know the first thing about beer, they are happy to help you out with little to no trash talking. Is that enough, though? How do you become one of those loud mouth, suds-guzzling, beer snobs yourself? Look no further than The Beer Fridge (TBF).

Though only in the creation phase, TBF is aiming to take the Internet by storm and help beer enthusiasts find beers, spread knowledge and keep up with beer news around the United States. According to the Facebook Page, TBF “…started a few years ago where all great ideas start, at a bar.” From that fateful bar room conversation, a website was born.

While the website is still under construction, great things like personalized rating systems for beers, as well as matching you with beer drinkers of your same flavor, are boasted via the Facebook page. Along with introducing the beer, TBF helps you find beers by allowing you to sign up for updates when that small batch or limited release is available at a store or bar near you. It will also send you notifications when the brewery’s website starts mentioning the beer again.

Though there are other social network platforms that offer check-in capabilities, TBF offers a check-in that also allows you to look at the beer list of each establishment, as well as reviews for each brew from their website. It will add your personalized score of each beer you drink to the database, filling in the page’s ratings with actual beer drinker reviews.

Though the website is yet to wow us (because, you know, it's not done), The Beer Fridge has some content that will create a great website for beer drinkers. Let’s hope the idea that started in a bar doesn’t die there as well.
